This is the desk of Floyd Gottfredson, who drew the Mickey mouse comic strip from 1930 until 1975.
Floyd is responsible for this incredibly iconic model sheet of "pie-cut eyed" Mickey.
Original Floyd strips from 1950's. Ken affectionately refers to this version of the design as "Mickey Riccardo".
It was a real thrill to hold original art for the big Golden book of Peter Pan. My daughter insists we read this one about three times a week.
These were painted by John Hench and Al Dempster in Casein paints.
Collectors: beware abridged reprints that chop up this marvelous artwork! Thanks again to Ken, and to Phil for arranging the whole thing.
