Disney publishing archives

Recently Ken Shue of Disney publishing was kind enough to show an intimate group of us artist some of their treasures.
This is the desk of Floyd Gottfredson, who drew the Mickey mouse comic strip from 1930 until 1975.
Floyd is responsible for this incredibly iconic model sheet of "pie-cut eyed" Mickey.

Original Floyd strips from 1950's. Ken affectionately refers to this version of the design as "Mickey Riccardo".

It was a real thrill to hold original art for the big Golden book of Peter Pan. My daughter insists we read this one about three times a week.

These were painted by John Hench and Al Dempster in Casein paints.
Collectors: beware abridged reprints that chop up this marvelous artwork!
Thanks again to Ken, and to Phil for arranging the whole thing.
